Guess what? This does not have to be the case at all.
First off, I’m absolutely convinced that when you start doing the things that feel right for your heart and your business — that was me with personal branding photography, everything else really does start to fall into place.
Instead of stressing yourself out to build 100 leads each week, find clarity around your goals and then go from there. It’s way less stressful, and it’s also a lot more effective (and fun).
How to market yourself
To market yourself the right way, you have to realise something super important: your image and your brand is the forefront for any business, big or small.
The first step into building your personal brand is understanding who you are. Your personal brand can mainly reflect your personal and professional identity, so you must have a clear vision of what you are trying to achieve.
Who are you marketing to? Who is your ideal client, what are they looking for, and what are their biggest pain points?
What are you marketing? Are you trying for general brand awareness? Is there a specific service or offer you want to sell? Are you running a sale?
When are you marketing? Are you focusing on certain key periods in your business, running evergreen campaigns, or rolling with it?
Where are you marketing? Are you on certain social media platforms, trying out email, or running paid ads? Where do you want to spend the most time?
Why are you marketing in the first place? Are you trying to grow your business from a sales standpoint? Are you looking for more leads? Do you simply want to increase awareness? Have a reason here.
Branding is not only about who you are today. It also shows what you wish to achieve in the future. Once you have understood your competencies, consider which career path you want to explore next. This way, you will get a clearer vision of what skills you already have and what needs to be improved.
Write down your goals for the next five or ten years, and think about what you would like to be known for. That will help narrow down the steps you should take to make your dreams come true.
Remember to social network
Building a personal brand takes time and effort. To achieve your goals quicker, don’t forget to make use of networking and social media. You can start by having social media accounts like, Linkedin, Instagram, Facebook TickTok, joining conferences, and taking classes that are relevant to your niche or career. Once you begin to network with people who are in the same industry, you will gain more recognition.
Furthermore, the people you have connected with can, later on, carry on as your brand ambassadors. However, remember that communication is a two-way street. When you are trying to build relationships, you should also bring some kind of value to the table.
